International trade of goods of the Republic of Moldova in February 20261
Exports of goods in February 2026 were amounted to 285,5 million EUR, with 7,8% more than in January 2026 and with 10,5% more compared to February 2025.
Exports of goods in January-February 2026, amounted to 550,4 million EUR, which is 11,6% more than in the corresponding period of 2025.
Exports of domestic goods in January-February 2026 amounted to 445,6 million EUR (80,9% of total exports), with 15,1% more than in the corresponding period of 2025, which influenced the increase of the total value of exports with 11,8%.
Reexports of foreign goods in January-February 2026 amounted to 104,8 million EUR (19,1% of total exports), or 0,9% less than in the corresponding period of 2025, which influenced the decrease of the total value of exports with 0,2%.
Exports of goods to the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-February 2026 totaled 340,7 million EUR (10,6% more than in the corresponding period of 2025), accounting 61,9% of total exports, with 0,6 percentage points more than in January-February 2025.
Exports of goods to CIS2 countries in January-February 2026 amounted to 34,2 million EUR (with 18,5% more than in the corresponding period of 2025), equivalent to a share of 6,2% in total exports, more with 0,4 percentage points compared to January-February 2025.
Imports of goods in February 2026 amounted to 822,2 million EUR, with 17,7% more compared to January 2026 and with 1,5% less compared to February 2025.
Imports of goods in January-February 2026, totaled USD 1520,7 million, which is 0,6% less than in the corresponding period of 2025.
Imports of goods from the countries of the European Union (EU-27) in January-February 2026 amounted to 875,8 million EUR (with 2,8% more compared to corresponding period of 2025), accounting for 57,6% of total imports, more with 1,9 percentage points compared to January-February 2025.
Imports of goods from CIS2 countries in January-February 2026 amounted to 40,1 million EUR (with 28,2% less than in the same period of 2025), equivalent to a share of 2,6% in total imports, less with 1,0 percentage points compared to January-February 2025.
The trade balance deficit in February 2026 was 536,7 million EUR, which is 103,1 million EUR (+23,8%) more than in January 2026, and with 39,7 million EUR (-6,9%) less compared to February 2025.
The considerable gap between exports and imports of goods led to the accumulation of a trade balance deficit amounting to 970,3 million EUR in January-February 2026, which is 66,4 million EUR (-6,4%) less than the level recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
In January-February 2026, the trade balance with the European Union (EU-27) recorded a deficit of 535,1 million EUR, and with CIS countries – 5,9 million EUR, which is 9,0 million EUR (-1,6%) less, respectively with 21,0 million EUR (-78,2%) less, compared to the values recorded in the corresponding period of 2025.
